just ground the amp to the part on the amp that says ground, and make sure ure connect the radio wire(from the head unit) and the audio plugs(re/white) to the amp.

It depends on your head unit. Most head units do not have large enough internal amplifiers to require a separate ground. They are grounded through the wiring harness to a common chassis ground for various other electrical accessories.

Some head units like the better Alpine units have separate grounds. You MUST Ground one of these units. If you try to splice into the wiring harness you will just end up blowing fuses in your head unit and having to pull it back out to replace them.

Amps always are grounded. Usually with short (less than 3') wires of equal or larger guage than your power wire.

Good grounds make cleaner power and will keep you from getting "gremlins" in your system.

Good Luck

Whats the make and model of the Hu and MM&Y of car?

capdaddy222 is correct you probably don't need anything more then the oem radio ground for the aftermarket HU, if you do running a ground wire from the back brace screw to the chassis of the car will work just fine, or just running the HUs ground wire to the chassis.

That said, if the HUs internal amp is that big, [anything over 10W x 4 RMS] you should be running a power wire from the batt., [just like the amp] to behind the HU and connecting the HUs constant power, [yellow] to it.
Of coarse if you are not using the HU internal amp for any speakers, you can go ahead and just use the oem radio harness constant power and ground.

As for the amp ground use an existing bolt, [seat, seat belt] as close to the amp as convenient to ground the amp, [don't forget to scrap off any paint so the ground makes contact with bare metal. 94
