Default Okay to start fresh rebuilt engine with no oxygen sensor?

This is probably a dumb question, but I am gonna try to start my built turbo motor for the first time tomorrow. Only thing is, I only have a short pipe (about a foot and a half) for a downpipe, not enough for a o2 sensor. I plan on having a muffler shop weld on a 2 feet length of straight pipe and bung for my wideband.

I want to try and start the car and seat the rings, check for leaks, etc but will the car run rich with no o2 sensor? Should I try to fab up a small length of pipe for the o2 sensor?

I feel like a noob for asking but I want to be sure.

yeah without the o2 it will run really rich and throw a check engine light...if u havent tuned the motor DO NOT start the motor,it only take a few(5-15)sec. to pop the motor...i would have it at least widebanded then seat the rings the right way:

1)put load on rings-alternate between gears an accelerate quickly without hitting vtec if u have it or redline of course.

2)slow down the exact opposite-meaning down shift by putting a load on it also.

3)the first 20 minutes is most crucial-trust me done a few

4)motor will last a lot longer if broken in this way instead of doing it by reving it high at idle or driving it without putting on a load.

drive it kinda hard without redline n vtec of course but make em work!!
