Default Zex cam install, clicking lifters?

Installed a zex 59100 into my JDM D15B, and the lifters are making lots of clicking noises. Valves were all relashed to spec, but you can hear the lifters making tons of noise, anyone know what could be doing this? Please help!!

mine too. I hated the noise soo much I took it off and sold it. I couldn't take vitara's piston slap and valvetrain noise all from one motor.

I can feel the 4 little (motion assembly's?) canister looking things tapping against the valve cover, this wont cause any damage over a period of time? the car runs fine just ticks like crazy.

its the aggressive ramp rate, and yes it will wear parts over time.

Turns out that the 4 little canister things were installed upside down, causing them to bounce, Thank you d-series.org!!!

What he said.. I can't believe it would even run. Must have been one hell of a diesel.

I have the Zex 59300 and it is noisy. Stock springs and retainers and it has been on for like 60k miles and over 2 years. No issues. I used to drive my car ALOT. I drive to work and back daily about 68 miles. NO issues. Love it. Feels like a have a b-series. , just adjust the valves every so often to make sure nothing comes loose and to ensure proper clearance.

Damn upside Down LMA's
