Default Stock honda lsd's or should I stick with my spool.

I am about to get a new tranny with a stock honda lsd in it and my last one had a spool. I am just wondering about the effectiveness of the stock lsd units because I don't want to be in a final and the lsd not work if you know what I mean. This isn't my daily but I do drive it on the street sometimes and its is a pain with a spool but there are no questions asked to if it is working or not. Plus I can drive it home if I break a axle. Just give me your opinions.

i thought the ttorque limmitations on a stock lsd were low like around the 225-250 ft/lb range. but thats just what i heard. why not a quaife? i know they are pricey.

...if the car was a staight track car i'd say stick with the spool. but since
you drive it in the street sometimes i'd say go with Quaife lsd. even tho
there pricey there worth the money.(try gettin one used).
...also if your not makin a **** load of power and money is a little tight
go with a type R diff. -jus my .02 cents

the type r diff is a good diff... I have ran that diff in extreme conditions and never had a problem... My setup is making well over 500 lbs/tq. and the diff is not even phased... I would recomend using it if you already have it.. If you are going to purchase an lsd, than quafe 100%....

If I was to buy a aftermarket lsd I would definately buy a Quaife. The tranny I am buying just has a stock y1 lsd in it and I was wondering if it was worth the trouble to switch out to my spool. I drove the car last year with it and its not so bad. I would rather have a lsd but I am not willing to give up my 60ft's and I am not in the market to spend 900 bucks on a Quaife.

we run a dc2r diff in a dc5 tranny with great results. Strictly a track car though.
