Default **CRX Brake Problems** We build pressure when....

We build great pressure when the car is off, no air, no leaks, no problems! When we turn the car on and everything gets going, we lose all brake pressure and have to use the e-brake to slow it down.

It's a 90-91 CRX upgraded with EF Civic EX calipers and rotors in the front with drums in the rear.

Anyone ever experience this or can give us a hand with what the problem is, we'd appreciate it.!!!

Bad brake booster? Disconnect the line going from the check valve to the brake booster (big black thing) and while the engine is running, make sure you get consistant vaccume. If not its your check valve. But thats just my guess.

Tried that. I removed the hose for about 10 secs. while engine was running. I had vacuum pressure (I heard it). Thanks. Anyone else?

sounds like air in the lines. make sure you bleed in the proper sequence. try using some ATE super blue when bleeding so you will know when the new fluid gets all the way to the calipers/drums and all the old stuff is out.

can you pump the brakes and get pressure? if so you need to bleed the system. dont rule out having to re bleed the master cylinder either
