Default TDC?

my B16 in my 90 CRX DX was running real rich, so I took the timing belt cover off and discovered that the car was way out of timing. So I took the timing belt off and fixed the cam gears to be top dead center and engine is at top dead center, however the crank pulley is not on, because I lost the key and have to get a new one. When I took a look at the crank pulley I realized that when I put it back on it wont be at the TDC line on the pulley. However the car is at TDC does it matter that the crank pulley line for TDC isnt at the marker on the timing belt cover? I think that it would be alright. Can somebody help me

The crank is a good indicator when the engine is at TDC. The cams, however, may not be at TDC when it's indicated if the crank is not at TDC.

there should be a mark or an small indent on the crank pulley to help you locate where TDC is. it lines up with the plastic part thing that looks like this

and when you look thru that lil increment you should see a white line or something to know that the crank is TDC. i kno because ive done a timing belt on my 94 accord. it was a bitch!
