Default Engine noise

Ok I looked at the past post and this is a NEW QUESTION........I hear a almost like a hair dryer in a distant room or a vacuum cleaner noise from my drivers side . It was once on startup now is idle effected and getting louder. Again high pitch and gets louder with throttle.
My concern is this is a timing belt issue. I will attempt to eliminate the belt on the alternator tomorrow. Thanks for looking

Do you have AC? May be the idler pulley? Trouble-shoot. Check the alt, ps pump, ac compressor. Eliminate that first then start looking deeper. Could be the timing belt tensioner. How many miles are on the vehicle?
