Default My dx tranny on a boosted engine... TOAST...maybe, maybe not, you tell me.

I know the dx tranny is tight. All the gears are spaced evenly out, which is awesome. w/ a dx block at stock fuel cutoff (which's 7k), I hit 35mph 1st gear, 65 2nd, 100-105 3rd, 130 4th, and, I ran out of road and also didn't feel like blowing my engine, or flying into a cement barrier because of minimal/zero downforce.

The thing is though, today I just found out my ob1 dx tranny which has been used for the past 140k miles, 20k boosted, is FUCKED. I think it has a broken input shaft, because it shifts into and out of all gears, but when the clutch isn't pressed, it sounds like something inside's clunking. Like everything I own, I never abused it. NO "power-shifting" or any bullshit like that. Yet when I down shift, I press clutch, blip throttle to match wheel speed, and et clutch down. No track launching at everylight, or any **** like that.

When I finished putting in my new clutch and flywheel 20k ago, I filled it up with castrol 10w-30, like the manual suggests. I also didn't expletive around when aligning the clutch... I also did this **** while the engine swap was outside of the car.

So based on the symptom's what do you think the problem is?

who cares, the DX tranny is junk and can be had for around $50

time to upgrade to an EX or SI tranny.

honestly it does't sound like anything is wrong. if it still shifts normally then who cares!

upgrade the tranny, i can tell you like the DX tranny, and if your stuck on that, then like he said, 50$ get another, but otherwise spend a little more and get the D15B trans and i think you'll be happier

screw diagnosis, if there's a noise and it don't move, $50 gonna be a lot cheaper than taking it somewhere

to tell you the truth i don't see whats the big deal with wanting a ex tranny . I've driving some but not to spend the extra cash on it. its is a big difference in a ex and a cx tranny its i big difference in a ls tranny in a b16tranny . now that's a big difference
im still on my 2nd dx tranny and have been boosting for a couple of months now .sure it has longer gears but im not out to race from light to light lol hell if i want to do that i would have started off with a b-series
