Dx to Si tranny swap

Dx to Si tranny swap
I have searched and came up with nothing. What will I all need for a Dx to Si tranny swap? This is the list so far:
-Si tranny
-MTF
-New clutch (doing it while it's out)
-New or resufaced flywheel (is resurfacing worth it or should I just get a new one? Also, is the clutch on a Si tranny different then my DX? What about the flywheel? Is it different too?)
That's all I got so far. Anything I am missing? Thanks for the help .

Your list is correct. I don't think the clutch matters if its a dx clutch, cuz i think all sohc's use the same clutch.

Thanks . What about the flywheel? (I am guessing it would be the same becuase the clutch is).
Also, are the driveaxels different. In the haynes manual the 92 civics come with either a dynamic damper or none. How will I know if my Dx has them? From 93 and up it says that this option is no longer available. New problem Help!!

What about my axels. If I have dynamic damper axels will it work for a 93 and up (dont come with dynamic dampers on there axels)?

^^if they fit the dx transmission, they'll fit the si. the only differences between the 2 are the gear ratios. everything else (bolts, parts, locations, etc.) is the same. basic in and out swap

resurface your flywheel, it wont do jack **** to it, they shave off like 2mm and its a 2 step process for honda's, so your not doing anything harmful. word of advice, make sure you have some friends helping u when your putting the sucker back in, and lightly (and i mean very lightly) grease the imput shaft, the INSIDE of the pilot barring, getting the tranny in by yourself is very fucked up, especially when you have too dogs licking your face while tryna wiggle it in lol

Alright, I will keep that in mind. Why do I have to lightly grease the imput shaft? (Just wondering thats all) Thanks for the advice . Oh, I will be resurfacing the clutch due to it's cheaper and like you said is a common task done to the flywheel on Honda's.

Hey all! Just picked up my Si tranny and there was clutch fluid in the clutch area. It was leaking out of the clutch hydrolic arm that moves the shift fork. It leaked down the shift fork and then into the clutch area of the tranny. The boot around the metal shaft that pushes against the shift fork was full of clutch fluid. I wish I had pics so it would be easier to see. I will use all my hydrolic clutch parts and I might reuse my shift fork. Dx tranny only has 101 xxxk, so the shift fork should be fine and the hydrolic clutch parts will all be better than the ones that came with the Si tranny. Just wanted to ask if this is the only place that oil could leak into this part of the tranny. Can it leak from the input shaft? It never had oil on it or near it, but who knows. Just want to make sure it is not leaking in from some other place. I was thinking about filling up the tranny again with fluid and letting it sit with the input shaft pointing down and letting it sit over night and checking for leaks in the morning at the input shaft. Is this a good way to check if it is leaking from there? (If it can even) I will also be replacing my throw-out bearing so no worries there. Just worried about the leak in the clutch area. Thanks in advance .

from what i gather you should have no problems, i dont see any way the fluid leaking from the hydraulic arm that pushes the clutch fork could get inside the tranny. just give case a good wipe down and wallah

Thanks man for the reply. I figure that is just the problem, but wanted to know if oil could be leaking in past the input shaft. Yeah, no worries on the hydrolic stuuf (gonna re-use my orignal stuff that actually works and seal good). I just don't wanna throw it in there and have it leaking from some where else. Can anybody else give me some advice? Thanks again .
