Alternator quick fixer or just replace?
Ok, so with the entire car being underwater some parts are going to have issues. One of which is the alt. making noise. Now, it does function, battery is nicely charged and it spins, no real problems with function. It just is making a horrid noise. Sounds like something is either corroding, or rusting, or whatever but it was totally submerged and there's enough exposed copper inside that thing to make me think it's just going to get worse.
Any thoughts on trying to salvage this thing? Can I just spray some WD-40, or maybe some dielectric spray, or something to just get rid of the noise?
...or just bite it and get a new alt? thing looks like a pain to replace on the 93.

the noise is the alt. bearings after the flooding.
nothing u can do, unless replace with a new alt. with new bearing.

it is a pain to replace it seems liek the bottom bolt finds a way to basically weld it self to the altenator and makes it just about impossible to get it out but i dont know if they all do that ive just had 3 do it
