is it possible to have a turbo set up without an intercooler .. topmount or front mount ?? if so how is that possible ??

 

An intercooler only cools the intake charge. If the turbo is efficient enough (usually low PSI <6) then no intercooler kit is needed. The greddy kit does this for it's kits , but has on optional intercooler too.

 

why would you not want an intercooler though?

 

detonation / pre-ignitions owns you.. intercoolers lowers intake air temperatures that reduces the chance of detonation / pre-ignition. the compressed air from a turbo is hot.. like it was said before, if the turbo is efficient u may get away w/o one, but like it was said before, why would u want to?

 

Its possible, but i agree with everyone else. Have you considered a side-mount intercooler possibly one from a DSM.

Don't plan on pushing too much psi with a non-intercooled turbo. Like everyone's said, you Could...but why not just get one? If you're going for stealth, you could always try a side mount, top mount, or a flat back front mount. Just throwin some ideas out.
