I just wanted to post here and let people know that all d series oil pans are not interchangable.

z6 oil pan>>>>>y7block wont work. if fabbed it will leak on the flywheel side

y8 oil pan>>>>fits only the y8 block

just thought id add this to inform the people who seem to think all pans are interchangable...
i have tried this so i knwo what iam talking about...

the z6 pan doesn't fit the z6 block? what about fabbing?

Ive run across this also. I had to put a z6 pan on a y8 block. I just got the oil pump for a z6 and it all worked just fine. Thats the only problem I had. Just get the pump for the pan you want to use and it should work just fine.
