How do you put L3 trans in 1st gear
I would like to know how you shift a tranny into 1st while it is not hooked up. Do you need to open it? I am looking at an L3 Tranny, and would like to put it into first gear so that I can spin the main shaft to see how many times the diff turns. This apparently will tell me whether I am looking at an hf, dx, or si. Thanks!
