Default Brake identification urgent help needed!

I was going to change my brake pads yesterday, so i go and get brake pads, they don't fit.. i depress the caliper all the way put them on , and they dont clear the rotor.. they're too thick and the clip on it is *** backwards from the ones that were on there.. as far as i know they are stock 88 crx si front brakes. the guy i bought it from didnt say otherwise, but the pads for those brakes arent fitting .

any way it can be identified maybe by the code on the calipers? how can I identify what brakes these are?

where did u get the pads?

I got some from a autozone type place (canadian tire in Canada) and the box was correct for 90-91 CRX Si Rear Pads but the pads in it were completely wrong.

Go back to the store and compare between other boxes.

Ok, the old paper thin brake pads barely came off, with the new rotors that are the right size, same as the old ones, and brake pads that are for my year crx.. they do not fit over the rotor.. it is not the other brake pad that is keeping it from going over its the caliper , the caliper itsself is just not wide enough for new pads to fit over.. this is pissing me off.. so bad.. no one can identify calipers??

take off the backing plate. you dont need it. thats the extra thickness that is preventing you from putting the brakes on.

i can visually confirm those are 88 Si brakes. which are the same as all 88-91 DX brakes anyway.

show me a pic of the brake pads and ill be completely certain.
