Removal/Installation
Make sure lifts, jacks and safety stands are placed
properly, and hoist brackets are attached to the correct
position on the engine (see section 1).
Apply parking brake, and block rear wheels, so car
will not roll off stands and fall on you while working
under it.
CAUTION:
All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with
yellow outer insulation.
Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, install the
short connector(s) on the airbag(s) (see section 23).
Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly if
it has an open circuit or damaged wiring.
1. Remove the console (see section 20).
2. Remove the lock pin from the cable adjuster.
3. Remove the bolts, then remove the cable bracket and
cable guide.
4. Remove the exhaust pipe A and center beam.
5. Remove cable holder.
6. Remove the shift cable with control lever from the
control shaft.
CAUTION: Take care not to bend the cable when
removing it.
7. Install the shift cable in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: On reassembly, check the cable adjustment
(see page 14-140).

Where it says to remove the center beam and A pipe you may be able to get around that, when you get to the tranny side i'll give you the deatils since you can't see the nifty picture.
Remove the 3 10MM bolts from the flywheel shield and the 3 12MM bolts from the shift cable cover. Bend the two tabs away from the 10MM bolt securing the cable to the shaft and remove the bolt. If you need any further steps just let us know!

Did you take the cotter pin(#16) out? I did mine about 2 months ago and there was no rust at all-due to the cover(#4)

yeh the pin came out easy. im not sure why stuff inside was all rusted. i ordered new parts from majestic and should be here by friday hopefully.

i got this car for free, because the guy was too lazy and didnt want to fix the shift cable. so hopefully thats all that wrong with it, ive only put about $100 into it so far so we'll see!

thanks
