Is there a quick-fix for oil leak in the spark plug tube?
In the F22A- series engines, the spark plug tubes sometimes leak. Before I get to the real fix, I'd like to seal off the leak in a simple quick method. Is there any? Can I GOOP or SILICONE SEAL the tube somewhere? Anything effective will do good for me until I can get around to the real fix.
take valve cover off and repalce tube seals along with valve cover gasket and grommets

That's like trying to stop a garden hose leak with scotch tape. Won't work. Until you can get it fixed, you will have to keep sucking or blowing the oil out. It's not a good idea to keep removing the plugs, and letting the oil go into the cylinders. Change the valve cover seals and orings under the rockerarms. Link below.

Thanks for the replies. I did not know, and I needed to know. So now I know. A complete repair is in order.
It's too easy to remove the valve cover & replace the gasket.
I don't know whether your engine has the additional seals (O-rings) down underneath the rockers. But there's a good chance it leaks at the valve cover anyway, so replace that gasket first.

i had the same problem oil filled up the tubes to the top of the plugs still ran perfect some how but any way yes i replaced the valve cover gasket and tube seals then usd a ampon to absorb as much oil as i could then pulled the plugs let the rest drain down and replaced them wih new plugs been perfect for a week now i keep checking!

Yes, it has the o-rings, and yes they are what's probably leaking. You could change the valve cover gasket first though, then get a flashlight and try to determine exactly which seam (in the tube) the oil is coming from (top or bottom). If the tube is dry, (not oily) from bottom seam up, it's the o-rings for sure. Good luck.

Here's another link for the sparkplug tube seals. This one doesn't require you to re-set the valves (easier). However it does say to remove the distributor, which should not be necessary. Good luck guys

I think you can get them at any auto parts store. Look on their web-sites, they may have pictures. Personally I would get the Honda kit. Wouldn't want to do this again any time soon. To each his own though. Good luck
PS: I checked. Advance didn't come up with anything, Autozone had a set, but no picture, so I don't know if it included the o-rings.

Hello,
I have changed the valve cover the tube seals above. However, the kit I bought from Ebay did not come with the lower O-rings. I thought I read some where that my 1990 Accord LX does not have the lower O-rings. I now still have little to no oil in the first Cylinder. Is it worth to even fix it now? Or wait until it leaks more to fix it?
Also, how can you tell which seal is the oil leaking from?
Thanks.
