Default b16 shift points?

ok i have a b16a2 with a 91 ls tranny, i was wondering if any body else is running near the same gear ratios. what rpm do u guys shift at? and at what mph?

What code is your transmission? A1? If it's an A1, you're a lucky man because you have the 4.40:1 final drive.

Shift whenever you want to. On the street you can probably shift at 2500 RPM (or less) for the best fuel economy. At the drag strip, you'll want to shift at 8000-8100.

how do you figure that an A-1 is 4.4 fd i thought all ls trannies got a 4.2 fd

You thought wrong. The A1 has a 4.40:1 final drive. I counted the teeth on the ring gear and countershaft myself.

ur peak power is at 7600 rpm, after that, ur losing power. Thats for drag. On the streets, i shift at 2500 rpm to save gas...its up to you but this is for me.
