What code is your transmission? A1? If it's an A1, you're a lucky man because you have the 4.40:1 final drive.

Shift whenever you want to. On the street you can probably shift at 2500 RPM (or less) for the best fuel economy. At the drag strip, you'll want to shift at 8000-8100.

You thought wrong. The A1 has a 4.40:1 final drive. I counted the teeth on the ring gear and countershaft myself.

ur peak power is at 7600 rpm, after that, ur losing power. Thats for drag. On the streets, i shift at 2500 rpm to save gas...its up to you but this is for me.
