Default Right Front Squeaking

A few weeks ago there was a squeaking noise on my 1996 Civic CX hatch whenever the right front suspension was depressed, I didn't think much of it because two days later it was gone. However, it is back again, and it is pretty annoying.

Has this ever happened to anyone?
Anyone know what it could be? Or how to fix it?

I sprayed WD-40 around there but I don't think it did much if anything. Should I get this looked at right away or is it OK to leave it for a week or so?

It was pretty bad today so I stopped by my mechanic and he had two cars on the lifts so he couldn't look at it today but he said he thought it was the lower ball joint.
I'm going back Friday so he can inspect it on the lift and then repair it if it is the ball joint.

I have two questions.

-My car has 144 000 km. on it and is 10 years old, do you think it is possible that a ball joint can wear out in that amount of time?
-The squeaking was gone by the time I got home, and has come and gone once before, does this sould like it could still be the ball joint?

Thanks.

Are you referring to the squeaking from a worn ball joint coming and going? Or just a squeak in general?

Also, are there any other signs that it could be the ball joint? Maybe the steering wheel shaking I heard?

OK, thanks for your help schlit. I guess it is the ball joint then.

The noise was gone today but I guess I should still take care of it sooner rather than later.
