Default anyway to steady voltage?

my car is always seemed to be not holding voltage, it seems to be when i brake that the volts drop the greatest. i got a new alt, battery, dizzy, ground wire kit, and voltage stabilizer. itll start around 13.5 volts and then as soon as i hit the brakes to pull the ebrake down to start going and instantly my peak volts now are about 12.5. do i have some kinda short in the wires?sry for the bad grammar im in a hurry and typing with one hand.

Well you got all that should be needed. But I would check the voltage at the tail-light. Are your lights dim or bright? And yes you might have a short too.

But dropping to 12.5v is not much.

well theyre very bright, but when i turn on my headlights and my fan (yes its ona switch) and then im hitting the brakes. it drops below 12. someone mentioned some led brake lights that requrie less volts or something to work a long time ago.
