Purchasing Intake cam only?
would it be more cost efective to only purchase an ITR or CTR intake cam?
or would it be better to purcahse the set of either
I am just curious because I have heard that that profiles on the exhaust cam arent much different from that of the GSR and B16a cam
and which intake or set of cams will make better power, the ITR or CTR?
thanks in advance

What makes more power? I'm not sure if this is real but I've read years ago that if you run a combination of a the ITR and CTR cams, that it does really well for performance.
example
ITR cam on the intake, CTR on exhaust or vice versa.
Maybe somebody can clarify that but i'm pretty sure i've read people do it before and say it's a good combination to run.
I'd say just get both cams before you install them, will save you time and money in the long run

The CTR intake cam is slightly better than the ITR, it has more duration. The CTR and ITR exhaust cams are the same, I think. If your low on money you can just run the CTR intake cam and a GSR exhaust cam. Most of the power is comming from the intake cam.

i did the same.... ctr intake cam w/ gsr exhaust cam. Good midrange with this cam set up, plus its still safe to use with the stock valvetrane, but not recommended. The extra 1hp from an itr/ctr exhaust cam wasnt worth the $150+ imo.

you only made about and extra 1whp? did the cam carry more to the high end because I know the CTR and ITR cams are designed to make poer in the high end vs. the GSR making peak power at 7600

not sure how much hp i made w/ the ctr intake cam and skunk2 cam gears, but i was referring to only the exhaust cam making maybe 1hp.
Just saying you'll basically see the same gains if you were to go with a itr or gsr exhaust cam.
