I know their is a valve along the lines with a cap on it. Pull the cap off and it shows a valve like a tire valve. Losen it slowly and their you go. Now if thats safe to breath in or if it messes with the ozone layer, couldnt begin to tell you. My ac wasnt charged at all and was ok to remove cause nothing came out.

don't get it in your eyes, i just read a few weeks ago on here you can go blind. it would have been nice if i would have known that when i drained mine, everyone just said don't breath it in. that's true but it's bad for the ozone too AND it can easily expletive up your eyes

knowing that, i would have just taken it somewhere and paid the 20 bucks.

releasing the freon w/ the valve takes alot of time. if u really want to get away with it.. unbolt the a/c line from the condensor. be careful not to unbolt it all the way for it will push it out due to the pressure. once it starts releasing, stay far away from it until the hissing stops.

I bet you couldn't get caught doing that in the EPA parking lot.

AND DO NOT WEAR CONTACTS cause the chemicals from the steam melted my contacts to my eyes when i was doin a coolent job and it went south. Spent a week in the hospital blind cause i ripped my corneas taking out my contacts. Spent a good month regaining my eyesight.
