Converting to Alcohol
I am thinking of running the Lude on Alcohol. I have at least a 10.1 compression and I have adjustable cam gears that I can advance up to 5 degrees. I have articles that show this is a very good alternative. I am in Arizona, Tempe and have a 1993 Prelude with a JDM H22a (DOHC-VTEC). I am looking for someone in the Valley that knows what else I need to do the conversion. I will post pics, price, performance and how much money I am saving by not using gas. Here is a link to a web site that will tell you more. This is VERY possible and at this time it is a good idea for change. Here is the link http://running_on_alcohol.tripod.com/id5.html So if you are interested and have an idea of what I have left to do then my car is the guinee pig.
what else you need? you don't have anything you need. you need to advance iginition timing not cam timing, you need to go through your whole fuel system and replace all the rubber/plastic pieces with metal or something that can withstand ethanol. Then you need something to tune your engine to run on the new fuel. Then you need a way to make it(ethanol) yourself which i think is around a 2grand investment alone.
Those who search shall be rewarded. Thats the best link I've come accross though. I haven't found any info on converting a fuel injected car. Theres a couple of civic guys that did it. IMO, they didn't do it correctly.
