Default Brake Upgrade.

93 LX 4-door. Brakes are squeaking everyonce in a while not much. I want to change the front rotors to drilled-slotted and some better pads, maybe some better fluid. the rear I wont touch. My 1st question is would changing the rotors to drilled slotted make a big difference? and does changing the fluid to a better one make a difference? If so what would I upgrade the brake fluid to because I don't know what it is now?

Go with Brembo blank rotors with Hawk pads.
Great stopping power.
Just my 2 cents

The only thing you might notice with drilled & slotted rotors is more dust. Get some decent "blank" rotors and some quality pads and you're good to go.

And you don't need expensive brake fluid unless you track the car. Try bleeding the brake system with some fresh fluid.

so just wondering, What makes brembo's blank rotors better than stock rotors? Is it a material difference? and my other question is when U go with the bigger discs do you have to change the calipers to go with them?

^ lol

Brembo blanks are the same as stock. With bigger disc, you don't always need to go with a bigger caliper, but you have to move your stock caliper to compensate for the bigger disc.

The Brembo blanks are just good quality, relatively inexpensive rotors that people have had good experiences with. You can get bigger disks and use them with your stock calipers, you just have to relocate them outward with brackets, like the Powerslot Big Brake kit does. I used to run the Big Brake front and rear kits, they give you a little more surface area and slightly better mechanical advantage, but they are not really necessary and for the $ you can do better. I now use Rotora disks (picked solely because they were in stock locally, you could use Brembos, OEM, etc.) that I had cryo-treated locally for $95 with EBC Yellow Stuff R-compound pads. It gives me excellent performance on the street and holds up well to use at the track. I've made 2 trips to VIR and they still look almost new with plenty of pad material left (although one weekend it was raining, so the brakes didn't get much of a workout, the other weekend was dry and I was braking hard and late).

Lol Aim higher huh haha.....Nah I just like is his turbo mini-me setup. But if money wasnt an object I'd go to a custom sr20det motor swap. Just something different plus I like there numbers as opposed to comparable swaps. Anyways thanks 4 all your input. I'll probably go with brembo blanks or drilled of the same size and call it a day with some hawk pads.
