There's no replacement for displacement.

But then the flipside is the whole dollars to horsepower argument.

You let your walet decide.

As a B16A owner, I vote B18C, its by far the better motor. Save for a JDM GSR motor and you will be a lot happier

b16 is actually a great motor. Just throw in a itr header, straight pipe and itll be just as quick top end as a stock gsr anyday. Thats what i plan on doing pretty soon. I ran a 9.8 1/8 mile at qualcomm fri. leaving a gsr looking at my tail lights. And im all stock b16, i/e.

B16As are good motors for what they are, but not worth the money in my opinion. If you can't afford a GSR, get an LS and start building a LS/VTEC.

if your budget doesnt allow you to go w/ the B18c i recommend the LS (B18b) over the B16a. the LS has more tq, and if budget grows later an LS/vtec build isnt that much more. B16a is gutless in my opinion and not worth the money.

well you'd be an idiot to keep it stock. i'd suggest boosting it cuz of the high revs and you'd get more response out of it. just my 2 cents though.

I ran a 14.7 with my b16 in my eg hatch. I have intake, header, test pipe, exhaust.

^what he said, I have seen as low as a 14.4 with a stock b16 in a hatch. They are not gutless, just a different power band so you have to utilize it.

If I were you though, I would save more cash and get a JDM B18C or just an LS for now because the tq is so much more fun than the high revs of the B16. It's all about what you want out of it though.
