Default Drag Kit on GSR motor

is the turbo from a Drag kit Gen 3 good for a GSR motor?

not looking to make a **** load of power, just want something with a decent spool up and some decent power.

i have some mods done to my car and will be running with a b16 tranny.

thanks for any input.

ditch the b16 tranny and invest in a LS tranny, longer gear ratio needed especially when you boost, your rpm is gonna move too fast, with a b16 you'll be shifting too quickly.

hmmm... you must be a newb. the longer geared tranny doesn't make it better.

a friend of mine is running 11's in his 99si coupe. he's using a b16 tranny and he has no problems

GOSH! flippin A... idiot. Keep the B16 tranny

Short gears are always better. They get you into boost much quicker with a bigger turbo, unlike an LS tranny where you have to wait and wait for it to come.

On a stock GSR motor a DRAG kit will put down good power, with proper fuel management you can make reliable power with a DRAG kit.

I got a used Drag kit on my GSR engine and it made over 300whp on 10psi of boost. I have an upgraded wastegate (Turbosmart 35mm) which alot of people like to do. Mine holds boost fine and makes good power I cant complain at all

i will be keeping my b16 tranny, no way i would want to get rid of it

the drag kit will have a tial WG with it.

i have CTR cams, port n polished head, 3 agnle valve job, motor has been bored over, only has 3k miles on the motor. have 2.5" exhaust piping and will be getting an aftermarket intake manifold.

i just didn't want the turbo from the Drag kit to be too big

With that head and stock bottom end GSR you should make good numbers. I would say the 2.5" exhaust is good if you dont want anything crazy, but if your going for 350-400 a 3" exhaust would make it easier, but not needed

If I had the money I would have a 3" turbo back but since I dont I make do with me 2.5" turbo back and it runs awesome.

no way in the world will it be too big for ur set up. from what i see, u have some work on the motor... i would advise a bigger turbo at that. the drag turbo which will prolly be a t3/t04e will support and be effiecent with ur motor set up, but u can make MORE POWER w/ no problems if u get a bigger turbo.

i know you were just stating your opinion, but we are telling you different so you will know. people should get the thought out of there head that the ls tranny is better cause the gear are longer, thats not true. we are just giving you some info too so you can learn.
