What type of sealant can i use on the fuel rail for the bolts that wont dissinegrate from the gas/fuel? or what sealant is resistant to gas?! really need this answer i have a slight leak on the fuel rail and need a sealant that wont dissipate from the gas. help!!

 

where is it leaking on the rail??? the bolts that hold it down dont contact fuel. the regulator shouldnt leak if the o ring is good, and the fuel line to the rail shouldnt leak if the crush washers are good and its torqued.

Right, no sealant is needed. (or would help)

 

not the regulator but the fuel line to the fuel rail, its leaks, used all the necessary hardware that the fuel rail came with, it doesnt drip but gasoline moisture builds up around it, and same on the right side where the fuel is plugged off by a plug/bolt. no leaks on the regulator at all. But what sealant can i use that wont deteriate from gasoline?!.

 

the fuel rail and regular brand new just installed it last night, and all the necessary hardware is put on with it, and this problem is only occuring with the fuel rail.

 

tighten the banjo bolt a little tighter, if its a stock rail there shouldnt be a bolt blocking anything off the other side.

i see but its a brand new aem fuel rail, and as a general question, what thread sealant is resistant to gasoline??

 

i will tell you this, you cannot put any type of sealant on anything on the rail. the banjo bolt has a hole in the side and runs to the bottom, if you put sealant on it and it covers the whole you wont get fuel. i wont tell you what sealant is resistant, but if it is it will say so on the tube, but i wont contribute you messing stuff up.

 

i got it tightened up with a washer and its perfectly fine now, only problem is where the fuel line is, the two large bolts that sandwich each other, started to slightly leak, not drip just slight moisture, and there isnt threads or anything they sandwich each other.
