Gas spilling from my fuel rail..
alright guys i just put my sohc motor back in my car and it has been smelling like gas(bad). today I poped my hood and there was gas spilling from my fuel rail
(only while my car is on). What should i look for, or what do I tighten on it? thanks
btw they are stock injectors on a 99 civic.

exactly which point on the fuel rail is it leaking from? could be leaking from the fuel inlet line, or where it goes back into the tank, or from the injectors(o-rings). maybe you're missing a washer or it's loose..

Re: Gas spilling from my fuel rail.. (Kamin)
its not from where the big nut is on tha fuel rail, Its right above the injectors though, the whole fuel rail seems like its leaking.

it sounds like your injectors are not properly seated in the fuel rail OR the o-rings are bad. it's really easy to pinch the o-rings when installling injectors (i've done it like 3 times). install the injectors into the rail first then install the rail w/injecotrs as a unit

I had that problem. It was the rubber o-rings. Just take the injectors off and twist them back into the fuel rail while making sure that the o-rings go all the way inside and the injector is flush with the fuel rail.

just de-pressurize your fuel system and remove the fuel rail. take out each injector and inspect each o-ring. if they're not in perfect shape, buy new ones. i had to get mine from the dealer ($2 each?). now just put on the new o-rings and use a tiny bit of oil to soften the o-ring. then install each injector into the fuel rail, making sure they sit flush. then re-install the fuel rail and injectors as an assembly.

pull the fuse to the fuel pump. loosen one of the bolts to the fuel pump, but place a rag over the wrench to catch the spraying fuel.
