Default Rev???

my crx si has a 95 vtec motor with 88 si intake manifold and distributor the problem is the car wont rev pass 3000 rpms what could it be?

Back from the dead:

Limp mode is the "safe" program inside the engine computer. If any of the sensor circuits show a failure the engine computer will go into limp mode. Which runs the car at a very crappy tune(relative to performance), until the circuit error is corrected.

Basicly, if the computer sees a problem with the engine controls, you get the malfunction indicator lamp and the car looses performance.

It's basically so you can drive the thing to get it fixed. Like a garage, or home, or Honda, or the scrap yard. It's really your pick of where to go.

When I first did my swap I was caught in limp mode, but it got fixed.
