Default Interesting Transmission Problem, Lost Three Gears. Any Ideas?

Here's the deal:

95 Prelude Si 5 speed-Out for some "spirited driving" and popped the selector into 3rd gear. The problem is... there was no third gear. 1st and 5th are gone as well. 2nd, 4th and reverse work as normal. Interestingly enough, There are no signs of internal transmission damage. No grinding, rattling, etc. and the selectors, selector cables, and linkages all appear to be as normal. The shifter moves into the 1st, 3rd and 5th positions extremely easy but obviously the gears do not engage. Any ideas? I'm lost.

There could be something stuck under the shifting mechanism; had that happen to me anyway.

had the exact same problem when we swapped my cousins mr2

it ended up being that the cotter pin holding the shift cable ripped off

it does sound like a linkage problem since only the gears you push forward on the shifter for are gone. check those cotter pins, they do come undone occasionally

I had lost first and second before. Check those pins on the shifter cable like theyve said. I had to ghetto fab a replacement cause I couldnt find the right size but it works great.
