Default 3rd gen, check engine light

I have a 90 Prelude SI/4WS
I'm having problems with starting my car after it sits overnight (after driving it the previous day).
The Check Engine light comes on, and the engine idle is low..and when i try to rev it..it sputters and sounds like
it wants to die. I have to try to re-start the car a few times before the engine fully turns over and the initial RPMS rev to
1500, and then it warms up normally coming back to around 700 rpms at idle. If I start and stop the car after this..and restart it everything is normal.

I checked the LED diagnostic on the ECU and it gives a blinking code 6. According to the Chilton manual, this code
corresponds to some problem in the Coolant Temperature Sensor system.

Does it make sense that the Coolant Temperature Sensor would cause the problem I described when I try to start the car

What other problems could this be??

Thanks for any info you can provide, Joe
