Default Springs Vs. Coilovers

Can someone explain to me the real difference between coilovers and lowering springs? Which is better, how they work, etc.?

Thanks for the help.

Springs will replace your OEM ones and give you a specific drop.
Coil Overs are adjustable from 0 to 4 inches, so you can get the "drop" you want!

There's a little more to it than that.

See The guide to basic Accords for a brief overview.

There is a lot to it you also need to take into account spring rates etc.. but basicly coilovers will offer better proformance and be much, much more adjustable then spings/shocks (hight, spring rate, camber etc..) I recommend you seach google or this site and you will find all the information you would ever need.

No coilover system will offer camber adjustment. It's just not possible w/o a camber kit. Yes, you can order custom spring rates with some coilovers, but you can also do that with Ground Control sleeve-overs.

Hey wassup bro, since no one here will tell you the truth about suspension I will. First of all, true coilover suspension such as tein or omnipower is the best possible suspension for performance. Secondly, if you want performance at a lower cost, get a set of quality lowering springs like Eibach, Neuspeed, or Goldline. These will give you the drop you want and the stiffnes, or spring rate you want. Thirdly, coilover sleeves, which is an add-on sleeve to your stock or aftermarket shocks work pretty well I recommend Ground Control but, they make a lot of noise(creaking), and after a while sag and are never able to be aligned at an alignment shop properly. Lastly, If you go the performance route such as Tein, you can get the set-up with adjustable camber pillow-ball mounts on the top so, I dont know what that other guy is talking about. Just my 2 cents worth trying to send you in the right direction peace!!!!!!!!!

Actually, you are a bit misguided.

By far, Tein and Omnipower are NOT the best coilovers for performance. Not even close.

No one I know, including myself, ever had problems with Ground Controls creaking or sagging.

Tein's pillow-ball mounts for Accords do NOT have camber adjustments. The camber adjustments are for McPherson strut suspensions only.

So, in conclusion, what you speak of is not the "truth". Thank you, here's your 2 cents back.

I know people with JIC coilovers and they love them I don't know about Hondas but for my 240 they are about $1400 a set.. Tein basics are $700-800 and Tein HEs are $1300..

I personally like Kei office coilovers but again I don't know if they make them for Hondas

In regards to Tein coilovers, 4th and 5th gen Accords have a choice between the Basics, SS, and CS. 6th and 7th gens can only choose between the Basics and SS.

I would assumed Kei Office doesn't have an application for Accords, since they're mostly into drift setups. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that.)

on cb7tuner.com someone has a thread about installing omnipower colivers. There is a picture of the onmis side by side the stock spring strut combo and the coilvers are about half the size and look a lot lighter.

SLA? I'm not sure what you mean...

I'm a little drunk right now, so I'll explain the second part of your question tomorrow... (Sunday)
