Just bought JDM 95 SI tranny for my D15B... I bought new clutch yesterday also, complete kit.. Anything I have to do prior to install, like prepping or something? Somewhere I thought I read something about applying RTV silicone like on the bearings or something like that, since the clutch came with new Input Shaft Bearing an Throwout Bearing??? <i've searched thank you> Thanks..
I ususally grease up the transmission input shaft(what the throw out bearing slides on).
You dont need to put rtv on anything. I certainly wouldnt recommend putting it on the throw out bearing!

Hope you read the manual first before you tear into it...
Make sure you don't turn the engine over the wrong way while doing this. Honda's don't like being turned clockwise (from the crank pully perspective), can cause the cam timing to jump.
That's in the manual too.

I have a friend coming over to lend a hand, i swapped my old motor an kept the dx tranny on my D15B "dumb mistake, thing had 120k on it" but anyways, I just unbolted an unscrewed it off old motor an just put it back on same way i took it off, an ran perfect for 2 years almost so I figured i'd could just throw it on, but earlier today I read someone saying that applying silicone or whatever to something on the tranny usually extends lifetime or bearings an tranny or something?? Also the inside of the tranny is like all greased out an dirty, can I spray degreaser on the inside of the casing if I blocked off the C/V axle inlet an had bearings out of it..??

it shoulda came with a pilot bearing too. u should and are supposed to let it soak in oil over night or if it a las minute thing heat it up and put it in the oil. its a porous bearing when it gets warm the oil comes out and lubricateds and when it cools it sucks it back up

Alright thanks, thats what i was wondering.. Yes bearings have been soaked "i kno so much, just not all" but I did all other necessary precautions was just curious as to the silicone being applied, an where... And the grease buildup on the inner casing I was gonna clean but I second guessed when I thought about spraying some sorta cleaner degreaser on the inside cuz I didnt wanna cause any problems... Well im off to doin the tranny, i plan on doing a DIY writeup so I'll post pics up later.. Thanks..
That whole soaking thing is BS. The pilot and throwout bearings are both sealed ball /roller bearings with lube built in. Soaking them in some other oil will just F them up or do nothing.
Back when they used bronze bushings which WERE porous and could hold oil, then soaking them made some kind of sense.
Hopefully the seals on the bearings kept that oil soak from getting into the actual bearings. That's what I mean about "read the manual". There's too much BS floating around these forums.
