Default Do i need the factory line that connects to the valve cover from the old airbox?? PICS inside

I have some pics below of what im taking about. I got a ebay intake and the blue tube that goes from the intake to the valve cover, it is linked to another hose that was there with the original airbox. I was wondering if i need the stock thing or can i just take that line out and connect the blue hose to the valve cover directly. The stock line is also connected to the intake manifold and it goes down which i cant see. it has a coolant line connected to it from the intake manifold. The third picture shows the coolant line. The hose is the new looking hose with the new silver clamp on it.

I don't know where the hell that blue tube is going to but it would be wise to put it back where the stock one was. You would also need a metal piece of tubing with a slash cut in it (about 45*) going into the intake. This helps the head vent out all the preasure in the upper part of the engine. You could always do without it, but depending on where you live, the cops might give you a ticket for it.

i think the blue hose is going around the intake tube thing and then goes to the breather on the valve cover i think the hose was to long so he put it around the intake

you should not have plugged the valvecover. that is the valvecover breather and provides "fresh" air into the head and crankcase and is part of the PCV system. it also provides extra pressure release when under high load and blowby when the PCV valve becomes a restriction.

you should replace that with a hose and dump it into a catch can of your choice (a soda can ziptied to the charcoal canister will do). actually, i would remove that whole stock coolant/air hose assembly, and create another separate coolant and air line to replace the ones stuck together.

you do not need to open the nipple on the intake. its not necessary at all, and that you can leave plugged.

i think its the same hose..just wrapped around the intake piping, this is typical ebay intake, they give you a good enough length of the hose to the valve cover...

you can plug that hole and just add a breather on the valve cover part..to make it simple, or you can just cut the one you have short and make it fit rite..

edit: damn...people beat me to it heh
