There is no reason to spend a lot of money on rotors because, as you have discovered, they are very much expendable items.

There is also no point in getting cross drilled rotors for regular driving. They do not increase efficiency. In fact, in most driving conditions, they actually reduce efficiency.

In the old days, we would cross drill the rotors of our Porsches because the high performance brake pads would "gas up" and it would force the pads away from the rotors. The holes made sure the gas could escape.

Modern brake pads do not gas up like this, and it's unlikely that you would want to drive in a very enthusiastic way in the kind of downpour that would cause a braking problem.

Even with my dedicated track car, I still just march down to Autozone or Advance Auto and buy the $24 generic rotors.

Only 15,000 miles on a set of rotors? I suppose you're tracking it, right?

WORD

Mine are awesome, alot more bite and less dust with Hawk HPS Pads than OE.

Cannot go wrong with a setup like that if youre not doing much tracking of your car.

spend your money on the pads (lines are a plus, too) not the rotors...

before u buy new rotors, ask urself why you need new rotors. There shouldnt really be another reason for you to buy rotors unless they were warped.

stock pads shouldnt be able to rip apart your rotors even with a few autox events.

I'm just wondering why you'd need new rotors after just 15,000 miles if you're not beating the snot out of them every weekend on the track.

Do they feel warped? I'll bet that they aren't...
