sound output gone.....just gone..need help ASAP
car - 94 civic
ok so i use to have an alpine in my car and it worked fine. i installed a kenwood and had problems with the sound going out at random times...so i put the alpine back in. now theres NO sound output at all. i even put it a brand new JVC that my friend has and NO SOUND output at all. wiring is quadruple checked and ive installed at least 25 decks already so wiring is easy for me.

Your on the right track "94 civic" now the other info that is needed
1- Makes and models of HU(s) amp(s) speakers and subs if any.
2- What is driving, [running off of] what?
3- Problem, I got that, [no sound] but, no sound out of speakers, so sound out of sub, [if you have one] no sound at all, HU lights up and appears to work but no sound, or something else.
A better description of what you have and how it should work and what is not working now, will save a lot of time and posts back and forth to get that info, and also give us an idea of what may be wrong, no point in me telling you to check the amp control line if all you have is a HU running 4 speakers, [in which case I would tell you the do a continuity check to ground on all 8 speaker wires and an impedance check on all 4 speakers] both a control line on an amped system or a shorted speaker or speaker line on a "non" amped system, could cause the problem you have, [no sound at all that started with intermittent no sound] and because it the same thing is happening with even a new HU, its a good bet the problem is with something other then the HU, [although the problem, whatever it is, can certainly cause problems in the HU, EG: an intermittent short in a speaker wire will only trigger the protection circuits in an amp or HU so many times before the circuits fail to work and damage is done, or the short gets so bad it will not let the circuit "disengage" at all].
I know you checked the wiring, but did you "meter" the wiring, besides checking for a short in the speakers or speaker wires "meter" the power wires, is there 12V on the line when there is a load on it, EG: do you have 12V+ on the HUs acc., [red] and constant, [yellow] power wires when the HU is plugged in and turned on, or amps if you have them?
See what I mean, without more info I could go on and on with possible problems that would cause the symptom, [no sound] you describe.

strong possibility you have a grounded out speaker wire, meaning a speaker wire is touching metal or another speaker wire somewhere do a continuity to ground check through your speaker wiresto your speakers with the deck unpluged to find out where it is
There would have to be something wrong wit your wiring. Possibly getting a color confused with another. I know you said it was quadruple checked, but it sounds to me like you may have a wire grounded somewhere.
