i have a 2003 rsx base 5sp When i rev my motor in netural or with the clutch pressed in and the i revit to any where above 1k...after it falls and fells like it is about to stall out and then it jumps back up to normal idle.I've been told that because my battery died and i had to jump it off that it can reset my computer and my car has to learn to idle.what else could it be??

 

Do you have a Check Engine Light (CEL)?

It could be any number of things.
1. IAC is bad.
2. TPS is bad
3. Could have a vaccuum leak somwhere.
4. A bad injector.
5. Spark plugs are fouled.

Get a manual and use that to try and diagnose it. Even the cheapy ones have a troubleshooting guide to solve problems like that. Jumping could have caused it. It even says in the manual not to jump our cars because of teh sensitive ECUs.

There's a lot of things. Try pulling the ECU fuse under the dash for a few minutes then pop it back in. That'll reset the ECU if there are any problems. You can also yank the negative battery cable off the battery but that'll reset your radio security. If you don't have the code to unlock it, you'll be hating life.

 

do you have an intake? could be a vacuum leak.

 

reset the idle and do the idle relearn. if not, clean the iac valve. problem solved.
