For the past month and a half my car has had a fluctuation in its idle. It sometimes idles as high as 3k and makes a sudden drop to 2k and back up (when cold). The idle is less dynamic when it warms up. I recently swapped the engine into a newer chassis and did a free-hand OBD2 to OBD1 conversion (oops) but I had this problem before the swap and it has since gotten worse. Not only does the idle fluctuate but I'm also experiencing a MASSIVE loss in power under acceleration (feels like the car is running out of gas). The fact that my problem exhist under acceleration (throttle full-open) leads me to believe that a vacuum leak is not the cause and since I did wire each sensor by hand im affraid that this could be caused by a miswired sensor (not sure). Which sensor would most likely cause these types of symptoms? I had the most trouble wiring the TPS and the MAP due to inconsistencies in pinouts so if anyone could tell me which pin is which on either the MAP or TPS it might help. Could this be caused by a miswired O2? If so, why would the problem be getting worse than it was only a few days ago? Not sure if this is relevant but the loss in power under acceleration started after a few day of constant rain (something got wet?). Help me out before I think too much...
