VAFC/SAFC/FIELDSFC...?
So, does the VAFC have any other features than changing vtec engagment that the SAFC doesn't? I'm planning on running a stock cam, atleast for a while and won't need that, will I? Also, the Fields SFC seems a little oldskool and basic, but does it get the job done of changing the fuel and vtec?
I'm looking to avoid an fmu and going to run 5-7 on a stock d16z6, with (not quite as little) 290cc's...maybe a better pump, too. Possible? oh, I also have an fpr...

I have not used a fields unit, but i have been told it only allows -30% fuel tuning, as compared to the -50% of the Apexi units. At -30 to -40, my DSM 450s run optimal. This is at stock fuel pressure.
The fields would work well with slightly smaller injectors, or with the DSMs if you lowered fuel pressure via an FPR. The only drawback i think, is that the less you decrease the map signal, the less room for boost your gonna have. While at -40% people are able to get 10psi, at -30% you will only be able to run about 7psi or so.
