Default NEED HELP... B18C1 NOT HOLDING BOOST

Hi, i have a 96 GSR with an 01 B18C1 with a t3/t4 turbo and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of why i can roll into third gear vtec and hold boost but if i go from boosting in second gear and shift into third i lose boost as soon as vtec hits (5600rpm). i have NGK iridium plugs and im set at 9lbs of boost. seems much like boost cut but im pretty sure that isnt it. i was thinking it might be the plug gap cause they are set at factory and im not sure if anyone has played with different gaps with this problem before, maybe a different kind of plug? maybe a colder plug?.. any ideas would help me a lot.. this problem is pretty embarresing. Thanks

I would ditch those iridium plugs and get a set of NGK BKR7E plugs. Gap them to .030".
