TOO hot TOO quick + additional problems
Took my car for its 1st test drive today. I've got some minor problems that need taken care of.
#1. I drove the car not even 1 mile, when I got back to the garage, my temp was between the 1/4 and 1/2 way mark on the gauge, is this normal?
Possible problems:
d16y7 w/y8 (I think) manifold, In a 94 Hatchback
IAC is not pluged up (when it is pluged in, I idle @ 3k)
Can't find the coolant lines to run to the IAC
Car does not leak any fluids.
New Thermostat.
#2. Throttle lag
What are the potential things that could cause low rpm throttle lag?
After around 3.5k+ The idle seems normal.
There's hardly any power (I figured this to be just because its a Honda).
I'm thinking this lag has something to do with bad timing. Anyone agree?

obviously you have not tried everything, or you would have found the problem.
did the original engine have this issue?
what do you have for a cooling system?
have you checked the ignition timing?
which ECU?
CEL on?
what temp is it outside when this happens? (starting at 40* that's quick, starting at 80* it is a little quick but not unheard of)
how are you driving in this mile? (hard driving the temps will shoot up, idling they will not)

I didn't have the car originally, I bought the shell and the motor seperatly.
Timing may be off a bit
ECU: p28
CEL : Vtec switch, vtec pressure, iat
It was about 60 outside, and for the 1 mile I drove, the car was being babied to death.
Could an air bubble in the coolant be a significant problem?

An air bubble will cause the car to overheat not heat up fast.
CEL on = car runs rich and retarded ignition. (this is also your gutless/lag issue)
ignition timing being off causes even more ignition problems.
fix those and see what happens.
