Launching on BFG's Drag radials
Okay so I have a problem I'm trying to launch my car it's a CR-X the car makes 151 ft lb of tq I'm launching at 2K or 2.5K and the car just boggs I'm using 225 50 15 on my car with 16 psi. and if I go to high I spin the crap out of them its so frustrating trying to get it down right. What do u guys sugguest??? Thanx in advance
See that's the thing I can't get the tires to spin at low RPM's and if I go to high I might snap an axle. How high should I take the RPM's til.

let the clutch out a little until it starts to grab, then yank the e-brake and don't let the clutch out anymore. Rev it to where you want to launch and hold it (2-step helps here). Then just drop the e-brake and let the clutch out. It takes practive but after a while you'll get a feel for it

the key to not snapping an axle is to not throw the drivetrain all that torque at the same time.
It takes a few passes to understand right where the car needs to be when launched. It may seem like 2500 is too low, but any higher is too high but in reality it might just be the way that you're launching.
Try revving to a steady 4000 and before you let go of the clutch, let off the gas so the RPM drop a few hundred rpm then push the gas to the floor and release the clutch at the same time. If it bogs, try it higher ... if it spins, go like 3/4 throttle till it gets traction then go again.
Preloading is great too, as it saves axles a ton ... but sometimes a simple slip of the clutch rather than a side step is just as effective. Just try one a few passes using different methods... don't get discouraged if it doesn't work on the first pass ... no one gets a great launch their first time. If after a couple passes it doesn't work, try another method. Just figure something out that works for you, whether it be two-step side stepping, preloading, feathering the gas, slipping the clutch, etc.... you'll learn in time.
and with the bfg radials ... smoke them to hell and back ... just remember that you'll end up having tolaunch at a little higher of an rpm once they get a little stickier.
good luck brotha

whats up raymond, that day i raced you your car bogged? what do you launch at?? maybe you have the tire pressure a lil too low and thats whats causing you to either bog or spin.. try like 22-25 psi i had good luck with that back in the day on my gsr/nitrous setup... and damn 150+ lbft of tourqu out of a b16 is amazing
