To those with obd2 engines in an EG
I have a 96 obd2 gsr engine in my 92 cx. i'm getting a check engine light and i know its because i hacked my wiring. well anyways i'm getting it professionally rewired and my question is:
is it better to have the obd2 engine wired for my obd1 computer, or rewire it so i can use my obd2 computer.
is there anything special i need to know
thanks

Hondata is a standalone ecu. I have a 2000 b16. I am wanting to put it in my 90 std civic. Should i switch to an obd1 ecu or obd0? I have been told it is too hard to use the obd2 ecu in my civic.

As for your set up. Get the wiring fixed and use an OBD1 GSR Computer (or a Hondata modified one) That will be the best for taht particular engine. The Hondata will allow you to change various parameters as you modify the engine so it's a worth while investment.

JDM:
I also have an obd2 motor with an obd1 ecu.. I dont have any driveability problems at all. The car gets 32 mpg mixed driving. I have an obd1 JDM ecu, the mileage is about 3 mph less. If your car is running fine, then leave it alone or chip your ecu.
