D16Y7 exhaust manifold options?

my cat conv. is right in front of the block with the stock y7 exhuast manifold.. i was wondering if i get aftermarket headers or stock headers off another d series will it eliminate my cat and bolt on to the piping under the car?

I was actually wondering this myself.

More specifically, putting a y8 manifold onto the y7, how would it line up?

Would there be a bit of space where the cat should be between the y8 manifold and hooking up with the exhaust?

get a header for an ex and extend the o2 sensor wires

yes, if you do an aftermarket header it will eliminate the cat thats in front of the block...

if you have a y7 and plan on getting a header for it, you will need to get a y8 cat and some exhaust work done. (that is of course, if you plan on keeping the cat)
