Default Driver-side window only goes up when it wants to....

My driver-side window works sometimes and sometimes doesnt. When it does work it works fine, but when it doesnt, i press the button and nothing happens.

Someone told me it might be a bad "switch". Is that the button/switch that u press to roll down the window?? If somebody has had the same problem as me plzzzzz tell me how to fix it and if it is the "switch" or whatever the problem is.......which site sells the replacement parts??? (relatively cheap would be nice too).

~Thx

You could either have a bad switch or window motor. But you need to do some testing BEFORE you replace any parts (unless your filthy righ)
Fitst you need to be sure you are getting power and ground to the window when your pressing th switch to close the window. If you are getting power and ground when you push the switch then you have a bad window motor.

mine just started this today, the passenger side switch doesnt work for that window either.

im guessing its the switch, seeing as the motors work perfect on mine

could be the motor .. but i also found that if i pull my window toward the front of the car .. it goes up MUCH faster .. I think after time the glass or holder may get loose or crooked and make for a hard time for the window to go up. Also I have hear it could be the rubber on the bottom of the window could be too dry and there is stuff to make it software ..

on the main switch,,, take it apart, remove the 1 for the left side , disassamble it, clean the 2 copper strips and where they ride, they get pitted and make poor connection,, just use some sandpaper,, careful not to lose the little springs,, use a tab of grease on the springs when you put it back together to stay in place ..

I had the same thing where if you pull the window forward it goes up faster. I did some looking around and apparently its a pretty common problem on the 5th gen. I tried Silicon spray on the weather striping around the door that helped a little so I pulled the door liner realigned the glass in the door. Sprayed the lower window track (with the window up) Then I greased the regulator. Works like a charm now.
