Default Someone that KNOWS help me

Hey i have a 93 prelude vtec h22.......my vtec doesnt work......the only check engine light that i have is a 8 the tdc sensor...from reading on here i learned that this sensor is in the distributor. I took off my cap and rotor and inspected everything, it is clean in there and all the wires that i could see from taking off the cap and rotor are attached and in good condition. I also learned that the sensor reads off the camshaft.....i dont want to take out the dizz and spend 200 buks and install a new one wit hthe same results.

What else can I do or Check? What is casuing this sensor to come on?
Who sells just tdc sensors? If not can i salvage one out of a non vtec prelude???

the car takes a acouple seconds of turning over before it starts but besides that it runs awesome......just no vtec.
Please someone help me so i can start driving this again!

the cars that take the reading from the crank are the 96 and up (OBD2 Prelude)
about just getting the sensor im not sure but i would think you caould just buy the sensor. and yes you can get it off a non vtec h23

alright manyour pry talkin about the ignitor chip which is a control module that controlls spark dwell other than that i am not sure that there is a tdc sensor in the distributor if ur not hitting vtec check ur vtec soleinod positioned near the dist. on the intake cam vtec is controlled by oil pressure i believe so mabey your pcm isnt getting a reading for oil psi mabey put an oil psi sensor in and see what it does they are like 5 bucks

today i took a dizzy offa a f22a1, tore it apart and took out the tdc sensor. At first i was leary if the sensor would be the same seeing its a sohc motor and mine is a dohc. The distributor housing on the f22a1 and h22a1 are different but actually have the same internals. I then continued to take the h22a1 distributor apart. I replaced the bushing and seal that the shaft runs through, as well as the tdc sensor. All i had to modify was the wires from the tdc sensor. I had to make them about 2 inches longer. Put it all back to together. BINGOOO VTEC BABY........screw spending $200 on a dizzy like some of you had told me. I recommend anyone doing this if they have the same problem I had. It is lots cheaper and is not hard at all to do. WIll also work for the Crank angle sensor, Crank Positions sensor, and the icm.
