EJ8, EH9, EM1... Wtf is this shit?
So, i know that pre-92 civics are EF's, 92-95 are EG, and 96 - 00 are EK and so on and so forth. What I want to know is what This EJ8, EM1, etc is all about. I know its the second 3 letters in your vin, but would someone please explain to me the importance of this?

No real importance, other than the chassis codes refer to the different years and models. (88-91 Civic, 92-95 US market hatch, coupes, etc)

the ef/eg/ek terms are simply for ease of reference, and to make us american kids feel more jdm. we really have ED for 4th gen, EH/EJ for 5th gen, EJ/EM1 for 6th gen
ej8 is 96-00 EX coupes and sedans
em1 is 99-00 SI coupe
ej8 is 96-00 EX coupes and sedans
em1 is 99-00 SI coupe
its soooooooo jdm to know your chassis code... if you dont... you simply dont fit in here..
and here you go, i compiled all of these on hondaswap from a little research on auto-trader...
