Default Question with timing belt cover.

Will basically I smog my car last year (with D15B2) and the DMV wants me to smog it again this year (currently have D15B VTEC now). My question is

1. Are all the D series timing belt cover the same? I don’t have the stock one because I ripped the stock JDM one apart.
2. Is there another way to check my timing other than the timing light?
3. And for last, is it easy to exchange the timing cover by taking off the crank pulley.

I really appreciate with any information.

NO, they are not.

D16Z6 is actually smaller than all the others. - and upper and lower covers between the d15's and the d16 are not compatible with each other.... i.e. an upper cover from the D16 will not work with the lower cover from a d15.

If you need one in a hurry (besides the stealership) goto http://www.car-part.com and see if a local junkyard has one. - I bought one in great shape a couple of weeks ago for $20.00 (upper and lower and all gaskets).

D15B7 is different from JDM D15B. The D15B is more like a VX, or d15z1.
