Default Stripped motor to find a spun rod bearing on piston #2

Hey guys, I started to strip down my b18a LS motor last night with a few buddies and everything was going good till we started to take out the pistons.

We pulled pistons 1 and 4 out, then 3. All the bearings on them were good and didn't look bad at all. We pull piston #2 out and I notice the wear in the bearings on both half's.

The bearing is showing signs of the copper plate coming out from underneath in the middle center area. So I took the bearings out, cleaned them in Varsol as well as the rods then noticed that the bearing size changed after the cleaning and they wouldn't even fit back into the rods. Seems like they shrunk a few mm's.

Well seems like this motor had spun a bearing and I wasn't informed about it. We checked the crank journals and bearings and they are still good. Crank journal #2 with the bad bearing still seems to be in very good condition, you can see a few minimal signs of wear but nothing you can really feel with your fingers.

also to note that the crank with all the pistons in spinned freely, there was no feeling like it was locked or seized. Just spinning the crank pully would rotate all the pistons without any problems

Would it be good to replace all the rod bearings? Personally from seeing other spun bearing pictures on google and honda-tech, this isn't that bad but it's bad enough to be worried.

The rods all look good also.

I've searched these forums for this answer but get different answers, and I've never seen the bearings just 'shrink'

thanks

If your asking this question then you have already answered it yourself. Would you use a condom that you found on the ground if it didnt look used but was out of the wrapper? Then why would you reuse bearings. Ok sorry for the weird answe but yes replace em all.

thats not a spun bearing, it sounds worn. A spun bearing has actually rotated in the rod. Usually the rod and crank are junk then.
