Default Can I perform an LS tranny main bearing transplant to my GSR tranny?

I really miss my GSR tranny. It needs a main bearing. Or should I just put the final gear from gsr tranny into my LS?

Are you just talking about the differential bearings? If so just go get a new one it should only be like $40-50 from Acura. Just like my friends hatch he has a D16Z6 in it and his diff. bearing was all fucked up so we swapped an DX tranny on it for about 6 months cuz he was too lazy to get a new one. Finally i got to put it back together like 2 weeks agon and it is so much better. I bet you have the same problem. 82mph in second gear is tite!!!!!!!!!

When I sit at idle its a wwwwrrrrrrring sound until I step on the clutch and it goes away, so its not the throw out bearing which would do this only when I step on the clutch. It also only sounds when im in neutral and accelerating through first gear. Then it drowns out or goes away when I shift into 2nd, 3rd etc.

The noise you hear is the release bearing.

If you miss your GSR tranny, then go buy another. Gearing has nothing to do with release bearings or any bearing for that matter. It has to do with internal gears and the final drive.

The only reason the sound goes away is because you can't hear it over the rest of the noises in the engine bay.
